What is Podclyp?

Podclyp is a web app that turns a long podcast or video episode into short vertical clips. You upload the episode, AI picks the strongest moments, and Podclyp cuts them into clips with suggested titles, descriptions and captions that you can download or publish to YouTube Shorts.

Who is Podclyp for?

Podcasters, interview hosts and creators who record long form conversations and want a steady stream of short clips without editing each one by hand.

Is Podclyp free?

Yes. Podclyp is free during the beta. There are no paid plans yet. You can sign up in seconds, with no waitlist. Beta spots are limited.

How do I get access?

Click Get started free on podclyp.com and create an account with your email and a password. Signup takes seconds and there is no waitlist, while beta spots last.

How long or large can my upload be?

You upload one vertical 9:16 .mp4 file of up to 4 GB. There is no separate minute limit, but the file has to fit in your remaining storage.

Does my video need to be vertical?

Yes. Podclyp currently works with vertical 9:16 video. If you record horizontally, export a vertical version first.

Do I need a transcript?

No. You can paste your own transcript, or leave it empty and Podclyp transcribes the episode automatically with speaker labels and timestamps. Automatic transcripts can contain errors, especially in names.

How are clips chosen?

An AI model reads the timestamped transcript and picks self contained moments with a strong hook, such as a clear insight, story or opinion. Each clip comes with the reason it was picked, and the strongest ones are marked as top picks.

How long are the clips?

You choose the number of clips and a length: Short (15 to 30 seconds), Medium (30 to 60 seconds) or Long (60 to 90 seconds). The length is enforced when the clips are cut.

How long does processing take?

It depends on the episode length and how busy the beta is. The job page shows live progress, and you can close the tab while it runs.

Can I download all clips at once?

Yes. Each job has a Download all button that gives you every clip in one zip file, and each clip can also be downloaded on its own.

Can I adjust a clip after it is made?

On beta accounts, while the source video is still stored, you can adjust a clip's start and end times and have it recut.

Which platforms are supported?

YouTube Shorts publishing is live, including scheduled publishing. TikTok publishing is built but still in TikTok's app review, so it is coming soon. Instagram is planned. You can always download clips and post them anywhere yourself.

How do I connect YouTube?

Open your dashboard and click Connect YouTube. Google asks you to allow Podclyp to upload videos to your channel. Podclyp only requests upload permission, it does not read your channel data. You can then publish or schedule each clip from its job page.

Can I post to TikTok?

Not yet for everyone. TikTok requires apps to pass a review before they can post publicly, and Podclyp's review is in progress. Until then, download your clips and upload them to TikTok yourself.

Does Podclyp post to Instagram Reels?

Not yet. Instagram publishing is planned. For now, download the clip and post it from the Instagram app.

How much storage do I get?

Every account starts with 5 GB. Storage counts your source videos and clips that still exist. You earn 1 GB extra, and so does your friend, each time someone you refer finishes their first clip job, up to 10 GB of bonus storage.

How long are files stored?

For beta accounts, source videos and clips are kept for 7 days after a job finishes, then deleted automatically. Each clip shows a countdown, so download the ones you want to keep.

Is my content private?

Your jobs, transcripts and settings are only visible in your own account. Finished clip files are served from long unguessable links so you can download and share them, which means anyone you give a link to can watch that clip.
